The barcode scanner has two reading modes, namely self-sensing scanning mode and long scanning mode. The autosensory scan mode is fundamentally different from the solid scan mode. The scanning mode of the bar code scanner, also known as the reading mode and scanning mode, refers to a way for the scanner to read the bar code, and can be applied to different scenarios by setting the scanner for different scanning methods. Common scanning gun reading methods are as follows:

(1) Manual reading mode:
Manual reading mode, also known as key mode, is one of the most common scanning gun reading modes. In this reading mode, the bar coder presses the key after the light (aiming lamp) is lit, the bar code can be read, when the reading is successful or after the button is released, the light (aiming lamp) is extinguished to stop reading the code. Repeat the above actions the next time you read the code.

(2) Long bright reading mode:
Long-light reading mode, also known as continuous reading mode, is usually used in unattended application scenarios and can liberate some human work. In this reading mode, after the barcoder is set to a constant on (continuous) reading mode, the barcoder lighting (aiming lamp) is in a continuous long-on state, at this time the barcoder is in a continuous working state, when there is a bar code passing, the barcoder can obtain and parse the bar code information.

In long-light reading mode, usually the same barcode can only be read once at a time when placed under the barcoder, unless it is removed and re-passed through the reading area of the barcoder. If you set the long bright reading mode to read the same bar code reading interval time is 3S, after the first bar code passes, the same bar code is not read within 3 seconds, and the same bar code can be read after 3 seconds.

(3) Induction reading mode:
Induction reading mode is also known as automatic induction mode, in the automatic induction mode, the reading engine will automatically detect the image taken, when the scene changes, it will be read within the "single reading time" limited time, after the successful reading output information or timeout, re-enter the state of monitoring scene changes.

The induction mode can usually have "two modes":

(1) Induction mode - normal mode: In this state, after the scanner triggers the induction, there is a bar code passing, after reading the barcode, the aiming lamp (aiming lamp) is immediately extinguished, re-entering the next induction, or after the "word reading time" timeout, the light is turned off and enters the next induction. Barcoders generally default to this mode.

(2) Induction mode - continuous mode: In this state, after the scanner triggers the induction, there is a bar code passing, after reading the bar code, the aiming lamp (aiming lamp) will not be extinguished immediately, and it is still possible to continue to read the bar code without induction again, when there is no bar code passing, more than the "word reading time" after the light is extinguished, enter the next induction.

Manual mode is the most common, but is gradually being replaced.

The long light mode, which can also be called the continuous scanning function, can be set up by ordinary laser scanners, but this performance is not often used in practical applications. Because the scanner is in a long-light mode, it means that the scanning light is always on, and the laser head is always working, and the life of the laser head will definitely be affected. It is not recommended to set the general scanner to a long bright auto scan mode.
